Novation Remote SL question....

Just getting the urge to add a remote sl mk11 to my set up after getting Launchpad and being very impressed with automap....think it could be a good all in one repalcement for my old MK461 and BCR2K...

One thing I notice is that older models seem to have two LCD displays...

1) Is two better than one? Should I go for an older model if possible?

2) Are the new versions so pukka that having only one the one LCD display pales into insignificance?

I still prefer my mkI for plug-in automap.(I much prefer the two screens)
But I like the mkII for the Ableton template (because of the smooth encoders).

The mkII is laid out a little better though and has some cool functions. I dunno, if I were buying new I'd probably go for a sweet deal on a cheap mkI.

I am pretty happy with my MK1 remote 25SL

I would think about an upgrade if i needed the lights or 'touch sensitivity' of the knobs n sliders but
not seeing that need at the moment.

Indeed..... Ive been checking out the specs- I dont think i'd miss the touch sensitive fafders and pots though the led feedback may slightly win for the Mk2 ...as I'd miss the same I get from my BCR....

That being said I'm more often looking at huskervu rather than the pots....

Was thinking to replace the BCR.... though the Mk1, if as you say is great with automap for plug-ins -may need to be an addition rather than a replacement.

man I love my toys :)

If you decide to go with the older one, this is where I got mine:

It's a pretty good deal with the free stuff and I've had really good luck ordering from Nova Musik.
