How would you record the metronome onto a new track so that you could export it or use it for tracking?

I create a MIDI track, throw a drum rack in there and then draw the click in. We do this so I can sound a REALLY LOUD click to my drummer.

Hmm, thats a good idea, but it could use up unnecessary amounts of CPU (although insignificant, every little bit counts).

Im sure theres a way you can route lives metronome to a channel.

what happens if you set a track to 'resample' and then sent the CUE output to the same outs as the Master? can you send the CUE out to a track? I don't recall, don't think you can.

That might work, will have to try it out later. I know that ive done this before, but i cant remember :S and i think it was the improper way of doing it i.e routing it out the soundcard then back in.

on a mac, dont know for pc

you can find the the metronome audio files by going into applications and right clicking on your live icon and choose "show package contents"

then contents/app-resources/misc/metronome/samples

copy these into a different file location, drag and drop into live
