has been working with no probs for a long while, then disappeared into thin air!

Delete Driver and reinstall

or just reinstall driver

axiom is class compliant. no need to instal driver for mac osx.?

remove it from Live and set it back up... you sure nothing got changed in your prefs MIDI tab???

have you tried restoring the factory defaults on the axiom? i think you hold "+" and "-" while you turn the unit on. you'll lose anything you have set up on the axiom, but i've found that this takes care of a lot of problems when it isnt working right.

yup yup.

tried the +- reset.
reset the axiom, but still no transport function.

pressing the +/- keys doesn't restore to factory, it deletes all the memory including the factory presets, you need the "enigma" editing software to dump everything back on it, if you don't have it its free from the m-audio website. I've had this problem also and a simple dump from abletons midi prefs fixed it for me.

Maybe its time to get the axiom itself checked out for possible faults?

did you try the m-audio forums as well? the mods there are quite helpful
my axiom 49 did this too me as well, i gave up on fixing it since i have another set of transports.

midi map template has kind of fixed the problem.
have lost some functionality [no <<, >>]
loop turns, on but pressing the loop button again doesn't turn it off...

it will do for now.
