Djing with Single Audio OP

Hey,
I'm using Ableton 7 to Dj with a novation X-Station as my audio interface/midi controller.
The problem is I only have one audio output so I cant cue tracks before I play them.
Is there any trick to get around this?
Maybe using the computers output to cue or splitting LEFT/RIGHT?
Cheers
Ian

yeah, probably just split left and right. some DJs swear by a stereo mix, some don't. in a pinch go mono, it's been done.

few Questions.
1. You're saying have my main output in mono, but will I use either the Left or Right channel or does it just mix them together in mono?
2. Do I have to do any special setup or will it do this by default?
Cheers
Ian

in the drop down box that says '1/2' for the Master output, change that to '1' and change the Cue output to '2'. if you don't have that option, select 'configure' and enable '1' and '2'. you can disable '1/2' if you won't be using stereo.
but I'm no DJ.

if you are on a mac you can set up an aggregate device (combining soundcards) and use the laptop output to cue.
you find that in the audio / midi setup application of OSX.

Amazing! I created and aggregate device in my macs O/P options. So I can now select to cue from the macs O/P.
Is there a way to hear the main out in right and the cue in my left or do I just have to cue listening to my headphones and the current tack in the speakers?
Cheers for all your help,
Ian

Hey,
Ableton becomes very unstable when a I use an aggregate device.
Any ideas why?
