being one of the now troubled powerbook user on here in the last few days, i have been getting these dropouts too.
after doing these things today i can say that i am no longer having these dropouts...
not sure who this will apply to, check out my setup to see if it this is any use to you first...

1. saved my entire computer contents to another computer and wiped the beatch clean. :o)
2. installed OSX on CUSTOM! Removed Languages other than English from the installation, also printer drivers. all this takes up 1.5gb of space for no reason.
3. reinstalled quicktime 6.5.2 pro
4. also 10.3.5 panther
5. installed ableton 4 and downloaded 4.0.4, latency 13ms, all NON transposed samples are taken off HiQ setting.
6. put my abletin files back in
7. installed all new drivers for m-audio audiophile
8. Opened up activity monitor and console to watch realtime results.
9. loaded up my liveset and held my finger over the mouse with great anxiousness.....

i have to say that so far i am not having these glitches any more....im going to run a lot more stuff and leave it running for a few hours......reports back tomorrow...

SET UP
Powerbook 17" 1.5gz 2GbRam
Ableton 4.0.4
UC33 controller
M-Audio Firewire Audiophile with Driver OSX 1.2.6
Quicktime 6.5.2

good luck.
Wishing you great luck.

PLZ do report.
I will do the exact samething after that.
I just hope this will work out.

Thanks

PS The drop outs will occur after playing around 20-30 minutes. Maybe an hour.
Just to remind you. Good luck.
