How to extract audio?

Hi all,
I've not had as much time to spend on Ableton as I'd have liked since purchasing it at the start of the year, but I've chucked together a fairly basic drum loop with bassline and a few effects. Anyways, I'm at the stage where I'd like to send the track to a friend as an audio file (prefereably mp3, although I can covert from wav to mp3 so not a problem), how do I do this using Ableton?
Cheers.

you need to render the audio - if you are using the full version of live 8 the explaination starts on page 44
live will not render to mp3 so you ll have to convert it

And to my knowledge, it WON'T sound like when you play it live in... Live. Unless I suck at mastering
But you could always fire up some recording software, record the Stereo Mix channel while the track is playing in Live.

no need - you can route all of your tracks into a new track in live and record into that - quick way of doing it is to choose "resampling" from the drop down menu in the input type (where it says "audio from") on your track - this will immediately route all other tracks into the new track
if you have mastering chains on the mixer and want to include those effects, then route "audio from" master, choose "post mixer" from the drop down menu in the box below input type - record away
for both methods you will then find a copy of the recorded file in
yourprojectfolder/samples/recorded -

no worries - i usually do this now instead of rendering - for some reason i find that the recorded files turn out better than rendered files

I do the same and fully satisfied.
Also nice for direct recording while on stage... not cpu hungry, so it's transparent

Hmm, I was not able to export that way
So, all my MIDI tracks are set to send their output to this Audio track, which in turn takes its input from Resampling... then ? I don't see any WAV file being output as specified location.
EDIT: Hmm, I had to hit Record and Arm the track... FIXED

The quality is not particularily better than a Rendering....
Is it my hears, speakers ? Did someone pass this trough a spectrum and see a technical difference ?

We never told you the quality was better, for me it's exactly the same.

i usually use this method for getting audio when there are lots of effects on the track etc -
i still render dry files - but in the past when i have come to render a track, lets say with a long reverb tail or something like that etc etc then sometimes rendering changes how the reverb tail sounds -
so i find that getting the recorded audio sample from the project folder to be "cleaner" if you could put it like that
