30 bucks at audio midi

i got the trackbox for $15 and its awesome. thanks for pointing me to this im getting it now.

Gonna plug this big time! First off there's a 14 day hassle free demo of the British Bundle on the Nomad Factory
website, so don't just take my advice etc. I've through a couple purchases and group buys ended up with the entire Nomad Factory line.
I really like this plug in pair, it's in the top 5 of the 37 or so plug ins they make IMO, the MLC especially. The EQ is nice too, both add a lot of flavor of the type I like. Seriously great deal!

i kinda thought it was about "how it does it". You can have Kirk Hammet play you a song or you can have james taylor play you a song. They'll probably approach it different. same with software no?

I suppose...I just don't hear a huge difference in a particular EQ's "color"...honestly, in a big or complex mix, I think all of that is over-rated. If EQ8 can't get a frequency I'm after, I'll go to Kjaerhus. If that doesn't work, then I'll try Voxengo. Etc. But I don't think about applying British EQ color to my guitar track and Neve color to my drum track, etc. So for me, the value proposition is low. Again, all IMHO.

Right, so then, what exactly makes a Marshall stack different than a Fender Twin? The logic is the same, that they are both amps, both quality, so the tonal difference isn't important. Do you see how fuzzy that logic is?
With EQ and compressors I hear major differences, there are plenty of times when I bounce through all the EQs at my disposal to get the tone I want, I know it can be achieved with EQ, but people apply all kinds of variables to how they create a software EQ. EQ 8 is great, but I'm really really glad it's not the only EQ I own. Same with Lives' compressors. I jump around between the various ones I have until I get one that does the job, and the British MLC here is a really great replacement for dirty tube emulation compressors. Don't even know or care if it's trying to emulate a tube or solid state compressor limiter, but it works on mixes in a way that give me that aural impression.

It's all your call, but I think this is a steal and a half. The two most used plug ins from Nomad factory for me are the MLC and the Puls Tec EQ, so for $30 you get what I consider one of the best of the series.

Also, I like the looks. Live is great, but if all I owned was the Suite, and never used anything else, I would be bored shitless. It's fun seeing all the different GUI designs people use to differentiate themselves from the crowd, NI, Ohm, Uh-He, Sound Hack, and Nomad all offer such different graphics that it's a pleasure to work with them, just like it's a pleasure to have Ableton's simple GUI in the background.

According to the audiomidi website, the compressor is an emulation of a Neve 2254 and the EQ an emulation of a Neve 1081.

They are decent plugins, like MW a friend of mine bought their entire range. They are close to the UAD (still the best Neve software emulation IMO) and Waves Neve (V range) emulations and for $30 obviously a darned site cheaper in this deal. They are character plugins so give you a bit of a extra palette compared to using Live's plugins continously.

I-Lok is one thing to consider, if you don't like that type of copy protection, but otherwise recommended.

One cautionary tale - I recently had a computer die on me which had 2 RND plugins authorized by challenge and response. They gave me ONE unlock when the machine first required a HD reinstall ( and I hadn't backed up for a while and didn't have the licences on backup) and when it totally died recently, RND has now gone to the wall and ceased trading so I lost those plugins - if I'd chosen the I-Lok route, I would have still been easily able to authorize those plugins again. So sometimes, a dongle isn't always the worst option ...

And, Bastards! They've added 2 more BBE plugins to the D82 Sonic Maximizer I already own. Just loaded the 14 day demo and I really like the new H82 Harmonic Maximizer, especially like it's bottom-end enhancement - never used the D82's Lo Contour much, but this new one is really good.

Arrrr another 50 bucks...

Hey not at all trying to debate about it, just really was quite happy with the British Bundle, give them a listen. What I thought right away was it had all the parts I liked about the Vintage Warmer without the mud. My only complaint is the same with all compressors, that I use so little of the actual effect, like 10-15% of the Dial range. Wish for a larger range that's all. Also, compared to the EQ8, there's not much visual feedback on the Nomad GUI, which in some cases is pretty good, it's easy to rely on the nice graph in EQ8 and the like a little too much and not your ears.

@Pitch unfortunately the BBE stuff is the only things by them I don't own, the bundle couldn't include it as it's a contract job/points thing for Nomad.
Not trying it out until money isn't a problem; don't want to want etc.
