hey im a noooooob with ableton and i only have intro as of now.


is it possible to make 2 bar loops with impulse or other instruments from the program??

it should be included in Live's Lessons (maybe not in intro???)...

try the Help menu...

@esky: i have the pdf on my comp but i hate manuals. i only read them if i have no idea what to do. im happy with youtube tutorials and the forums. ill read the entire thing eventually. ive only read a little bit so far.

I think that might be it... I downloaded it, but I'm at work and don't have quicktime installed. :roll: I'm not gonna install it because it feels the need to always run - the clutter factor is high.

Check it out and see if it gives you what you need.

This video gives you concepts more than what you are asking but does show you a lot of basics. Your original question has been answered as YES. You can record anything at just about any length you desire. As mentioned, the manual, video tutorials, and Live's lesson's are your friend. Making beats and tracks is the quintessential use for any DAW so if you don't want to read a manual, you should just go by trial and error or experimentation. Happy beat making. Respectfully.

yeah im gonna read it eventually. its more fun to experiment though.

i figured the loops issue out.
