please please please, This is my last ditch attempt at this before I am going to have to stop using Ableton. I have e-mailed tech support, put a previous post on here but cant get any answers.

I can no longer get Ableton to detect the original BPM of an audio clip when I drag it in. it doesnt matter whether its a 4 bar loop or a whole song it just set the clips bpm when i hit the warp button to whatever the master tempo is set to I have tried everything I can think of including uninstalling and reinstalling the program. It is now making it impossible to get my tunes synced up for DJing, as I have used the tap function but find the margin of error too large to make it useful for beat matching. I have drawn a complete blank and just dont know what to do!!!!

Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi!

maybe it helps if you make some change
in your preferences:
the clips should be automatically warped.
otherwise the clip takes the bpm of the track
you load it in if you press warp after loading....

there are also some good tutorials on the ableton
site and also some good tips in this forum how to warp whole
songs....

hope this helps!

best

a working solution I found in an older posting at the forum:

"make sure the last marker on the clip isn't yellow
double click it if it is (2 make not yellow)
you can use the yellow markers to warp certain sections of the loop

hit warp on and off make sure it doesn't turn yellow again and then enter the tempo
it (live) gets confused sometimes i think it uses the loop length to guess at the temp"
