Help me get this synth sound!! Sixteen seconds into track 4 (Phantoms) on here... any ideas?

Its just an lfo on the pitch, and a second lfo on volume in straight 16ths. The first pitch lfo might be slightly slower, adding some movement to the sound. Re trigger the lfos, I think.. Add some long decayed reverb. The guitar that mimics the synth in the background uses the same reverb, plus some flanger.
On the synth, set the attack to be fast, and let it fall quickly, but keep a long release. Like a held piano tone.

Wow, you're good! Any particular synth sound? in Ableton, or I've also the following vst's - minimoog, minimonsta, impOscar, Tal elek7ro, korg m1, ms-20, monopoly, pro-53..... ?

Sounds kinda like an Arp to me.

You might need two lfos, so try Abletons Analog. This is actually a very simple sound to create. Any synth with 2 lfos will do. It can also be done with 1 lfo on the pitch, and one looped mod envelope for the gating effect. So you can prob do it with Operator, etc as well.

Your right, Analog inst very good for this. I just tried it, and the Lfos are locked to each own of the two Oscillators. They cant modulate the same Oscillator. Thats why I don't use it much! Forgot about that. Right..Try Operator like I explained? I kinda got it right with Operator. Use the lfo on the pitch with a sine wave, and set it slow, not deep. Set the oscillators envelope to loop: 1/8. Shape the envelope like I explained earlier.

I don't use vintage analog vst synths.
Synths with lots of LFOs and modulation sources: Albino, Massive, Surge.
Regarding speed of sound design: I prefer Surge. To me its fastest, following close behind is Massive, and Albino is far behind.

Some people are doing great things with Operator though. Using its envelopes in creative ways. But the fact that it only has one LFO doesn't really invite me to want to spend a lot of time with it, in regard to my use in sound design. But for general purpose sounds, its really fast! Like drums, keys, pads, and simple effects.

I don't suppose you could give me a screenshot of what you did in Operator? I don't really use operator, so it's gonna be tricky otherwise for me!
