MOTU 828 mk1 prelistening question

hi,
i just sold my m-audio FW-410 and got a used MOTU 828 mk1, even though i hated the FW-410, i really liked the software that came with it, e.g. the routing of the prelistening to the headphone socket was so easy.
the motu came without any cd's or manual, so how do you guys set it up to prelisten and what is the monitor level knob for?
thanx

You got any sound coming out yet? Firstly you need the driver installed, beyond that it should just be a matter of selecting the right channels for main and prelisten in Live. Give us a bit more info. about your setup ie OS etc and you might get a better response.

hi,
i posted this message on the forum, and i thought i had it worked out, but no it's not working.
i have an apple powerbook g4 1.25ghz running osx.3.6, ableton live 4 and i just bought a used motu 828 mk1. the 828 is working really well, especially after my 12 months m-audio 410 nightmare.
i have got my main stereo out coming out on analog out 1-2, and my prelistening on analog 3-4, that works, but i also want my mains coming out over my prelistening(headphones). the m-audio came with a virtual mixer software, where you could route things in the software, do i need an external hardware mixer to do that?
i would really appreciate any help

thanks
