Akai MPK61 Midi Question

Hey, Guys
I don't frequent these forums as much as I would like, but I am hoping that will change. I've recently been getting back in to music production, and today I received my MPK61. I've been messing around with it, and I've come across a little quirky issue with the arm-record buttons.
Basically, I've assigned the 8 buttons underneath the sliders to each respective arm-record button in Live. When I go to trigger one of the buttons, it has this neat little 'light' that comes on. I like this feature, since it would tell me which tracks I have armed to record and which ones aren't, however there is a little problem with this toggle. The first time I press it, the respective track button is armed and ready to record. I press the button again on my MPK61, and the arm-record button is still enabled. I have to do two more presses on the button to, 1.) Turn off the record, and 2.) Turn off the light.
It's not a make or break deal, just more of a nuisance and will probably hamper my workflow. I've tried to go in to the edit settings on the MPK61 to change the CC from 'toggle' to 'momentary', but the light doesn't come on to show which tracks I have armed and which tracks I don't have armed.
I have the 'track activators' mapped to the c-bank on the mpk61, and they toggle on/off with just one hit. I'm not sure if there is a fix around this (since it seems to be exclusive to the arm-record and the solo buttons in Live).
I'm basically wondering if there is a work-around to this (I'm not that great w/setting up for midi).
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!~
