Hi,

I need an advice on a voice/vocal track chip munks style in Live 7.

How can I let the voice sound more chip munk in realtime?
Is there a free plugin for that or with Live 7 included?

Off topic: What hardware device (available) would do the effect, how?

The voice/vocal sounds from the chip munks should be a good starting point for me.

So, how is the proper and slim way to to it in Live 7 in your opinion?

To do it realtime, you need something that repitches your voice granularly, at specific relative intervals.

One option is to use Grain Delay. Turn off the Sync Delay and set it to the lowest amount possible. On the X/Y grid, by default your pitch is X and Y adjust the size of your grain bits. If you drag the circle to the far right, that would be +1 Octave. From there, you adjust the Y to taste (smaller bits can sound choppier, larger bits are more rounded but mixed)

Another option is #63 on here the Whamdrive: http://audio.tutsplus.com/articles/gene ... s-plugins/

It will let you +your pitch an octave. and adjust wet/dry.

As for hardware, I'm sure TC Helicon makes something. I don't know how effective using guitar octaver pedals would be. Or Pitch Shifter pedals. It should in theory work really well.

thank you for the good advice. Unfortunatly the vst Whamdrive is just for pc. I use mac. only. I will use Grain Delay and get funky
