im not on beatport so i dont make shit

Beatport now pays in pussy vouchers. If you're gay or married then you can apply them towards a leather jacket or inflatible raft instead.

they've never done anything for me.

TBH, it's a process. one song isn't gonna make you bank. But if you keep putting stuff out there. Good stuff, they remember you and list you and buy you. This is the new era. We make money by gigs. The tracks make them want to book us.

DJ makes more money by producing. A Producer makes no money unless he/she DJ's.

You are only as good as your next record.

hehe, well i didnt mean if ppl make a shitload of cash... i know that we dont make shit anymore. i was more curious of what happens with beatport.

as i see it BP is and big ad-board. nothing more, nothing less...
i was just curious as to how much one could make on average...

I guess he means in comparison. Im curious as well. If a beatport track makes it to the charts does it mean you made good money?

rumor from a few labels is that you'd be lucky to get a couple hundred if you get on the main page for a decent amount of time. More than likely, you'll get $10-50.

tbh, thats why I prefer the scattergun approach with someone like Rebeat or AWAL. More stores = more chance of sales = more cash. simples.

But having said that...I sold 4 copies of my last EP.

like tod said- if you get your music noticed and its in the top ten you will get bookings-
word on the street over in the uk is that certain dj/producers/label owners plough there own money from there label company into sales at beatport to make sure there new releases are in the top ten to generate the dj bookings and remix work.
thats been going on for years tho-

i bet they all have little circle of motion dinners like the last supper licking each others ball sacks to ensure that there labels music stays at the top.
