I got Sampltude 9 SE from one of those pretty, glossy UK music mags. They also had this one available too. I found it too cumbersome to use effectively. Or maybe I'm just to lazy to commit to a new learning curve.

remember - PC only.

Samplitude is a really good program, but I too never quite clicked with it, the pro version has probably the best in the box plugins around, the Ammunition compressor/limiter and both the convolution and algorithmic reverb and Corvex modulation plugins are the best thing since sliced bread. I just never quite found it to be the DAW that complimented my workflow - object editing is great, it has always had a good reputation for sound quality and plugins but never quite floated my boat. And with Reaper around, I don't see the benefits of the cut down Samplitude. YMMV. If you have some free time, demoing it may be a good idea.

I kinda like samplitude ..it has some very nice features..
(like the ability to export a seperate wav for each marker ...and nice fx)

(like the ability to export a seperate wav for each marker ...and nice fx)

Enter that supplied OEM serial, it will say "not vaild" or something like that, above there is button to activate ( saying you can do it only once or something) if you click it it will take you to Samplitude page, fill the form and you will get the serial that will work. It all didnt take 2 minutes.
It is from some old issue of German PC magazine (seen people selling original CDs on Ebay year or more back) so that is why the first serial is outdated.
Anyway reason I send this is that people often ask about free or cheap software etc, this is definitely better than them Audacities or reapers.

yes... I know Samplitude really well...and it's waaaay steadier than audacity..(Reaper I like very much btw)
amazing for audio editing.. great features..
(event specific fx ... noise reduction..autosave...custom kbd..sysex..FLAC export..x fade edit...oversampling..etc..etc)
it's a truly mature product.
I've been working with it since v8..disliked it at first.. but it grew on me.

I never tried reaper, that name puts me off too much.
I have seen studios, people working with Samplitude but never used myself. I am slowly getting worried that Live will never get fixed (it is already 1 year since the release).Logic or Cubase would feel like stepping back, would rather go for something new, it could be Samplitude ( non compromise quality but could be overkill for my needs) the other option could be Studio One - what they showed me at the Messe was impressive, I like the clarity of it.

funny how much more snappy it runs on my computer than at work...and how snappy it feel compared to live is obvious..

Why does it change my windows filesystem?

Thanks for the link. I was just watching the midi video for getting notes from transients and then he quantized it and played it back at 1/16 notes and that was pretty cool. I'll play around with it on my other desktop to see what I think about it. It looks pretty impressive imho.

Yeah, thanks for the link. I just upgraded from v. 8 which I got from a Computer Music magazine a while back. This is my go-to app for cd ripping for one thing.
