Okay I'm a little confused right now.

If I buy Ableton Live 8 (not suite) I won't have any of the instruments like operator/impulse?

Secondly, if I buy an APC40 it comes with Ableton 7 right? Then to upgrade it's $100 according to the site... so why wouldn't I just buy an APC40 to get two things for $400 vs $550 (that's how much ableton 8 is on it's own?)

what if I wanted the ableton 8 suite from ableton 7? (can you upgrade further? I didn't see it on site)

I wish I would have been as wise as you to come to the forum and ask. just wait until 8.1.2 and see what folks say. I love the apc and what live 8 has the ability to do. If you are not strapped for cash then go ahead and buy both and upgrade. There are just a few issues that ableton is trying to iron out before I;d jump into it.

Honesty is the best policy
