can any one help audio recording

i just got this program and a mobilepro usb for my laptop..but im tryig it out on my PC first..im having probelms with recording vocal that come back sounding like battle star galactaca 
,,like a dieing robot,,,thats the first problem,,the scond is that it onyl comes on mono,,,& how do i like import a cd or instrumental track from my pc
