I bought the Apple Magic Mouse. It works great with all apps except Ableton Live. When using Live the mouse cursor skips around as if my computer can't handle both delivering sound and tracking properly. But that isn't quite it because the tracking goes a little cookoo sometimes. SO it isn't just skipping *beats* as it were, it goes a little crazy too.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Me too. Heavy cpu use, around 75%. I froze some tracks and it is ok.

but apple is the only way to go....right???

I think the problem is because it uses bluetooth. May the heavy cpu usage slows the communication.

And yes, mac is the only option if you don't want to re-install your OS every 3 months.

another option is to not reinstall your OS every 3 months

i have noticed this also..I thought it was because I was on Live 5 with an Imac & snow leopard, or somesuch...Not just me then...I feel better???

Me too. If i move an APC40 fader it can take ages to actually move in the gui. Hover I noticed that if I closed some applications (itunes, last.fm, and preview) it went away.

I too have confliction with the micky mouse!!
when zooming in on a track to warp it it suddenly jumps to the end of the track.

annoying to say the least.

For me, just the annoying tracking when Ableton is on a high cpu usage.

but this was happening last week at a friend's house using his new apple mouse and 8.1.1.
thought it was batteries at first but it worked fine in other apps.

i find the magic mouse not so magic really. i only got it because my mighty mouse's scroll ball got clogged and i could nt take it apart to clean it this all while still under warranty (under a year) WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP DESIGN FAULT WHOOP WHOOP WHOOP!!! they had none in stock so got magic instead. think its way over sensitive and moves when my finger hovers over the mouse... annoying but sexy... a bit like like a lady!
