The MR-2 just came out. I've never seen one in person.

The Sony D50 is a solid choice. I have an Edirol R09HR and I dig it.

Cheers for that.

What happens if its windy outside? There seems to be no mention of 'fluffy'
wind shields in the specs or is this not an issue with these type of recorders?

They are VERY susceptable to wind noise, and handling noise too. I used a Edirol R09HR that was simple to use and sounded great. I had to make my own windscreen though, but it worked great.

Thanks for that.

I have a tripod to avoid handling noise but will need to sort out a suitable windscreen.

What material did you use?

I used a windscreen for a Shure SM57 if I remember correcetly. Just had to cut some of the bottom off and then it fit perfect.
