Hi Newbie alert. I have just purchased Ableton and a Launchpad and have an Endirol PCR M1 Keyboard and controller. Is there an Ableton "driver"/software avaialable that will let me use the PCR M1 with the PCR m1. Can I use the knobs on the PCR M1 for cropping samples etc. And - should I have got the NI Machine rather than the Launchpad and not paid this months mortgage. Thanks Alan.
Ableton8.0.8. - Cakewalk UA 25 EX - Juno G - Windows 7 64 bit - Spectrasonics vsts.

Hey there, I'm not too familiar with the pcr M1 or the launchpad, but Ableton will let you use more than one midi/usb device at the same time - I have 3x usb midi devices and another keyboard plugged in via my soundcards midi plug that all play together happily.
In the preferences dialogue, it lists all the available midi ins and outs. You can choose what info each device will transmit and receive to ableton (sync, notes, and/or control messages) and each Midi channel has a dropdown menu to choose which device it will receive notes from.
The only possible pitfall is that on the control message side to map to things like faders etc, Ableton appears to ignore the port any message is arriving on and only looks at the CC and midi channel number- so if they are the same on 2 different controllers, you will end up with 2 knobs controlling the same parameter.
I am using an APC40, which has a "special handshake" meaning you can't easily change the cc numbers etc. on it, so I have set up patches on my other devices to ensure there are no overlapping CC numbers. - you may find the same with the launchpad..?
Hope that helps a bit

Thanks Al - I'll spend tomorrow trying out some of those things you suggested.
