renders are produced from data in Arrange view.

the red light means what you're hearing is different than what will be rendered.

are you using an external app that has cc data being sent to live, or are there midi clips playing in arrangement that send controller data to other tracks (through IAC or pc equivalent)?

it can be a subtle tweak you did to an envelope somewhere but don't see it.

see the red dots on the Session view GUI controls? those are things that are controlled in Arrange view. if there's a red dot on something that shouldn't have a control click on it and hit delete. that clear the entire control envelope for that control.

another guess... you have a parameter that has an envelope in the clip AND automation in arrangement.

this is not true

renders are produced from what will be playing, session or arrange

the red light means that what you will hear is different from what is contained in the arrangement. (whether simply playing back, or rendering)

often a "leaky" controller can cause the BTA button to light up, if you can't figure out why it is happening

well, two things, that and that banging a bike wheel sideways on the ground is an acceptable way to straighten a bent rim, don't do big adjustments with the spokes.

likewise. actually i thought about getting your advice lately when i was trying to fix the soldering on a garmin gps. damn, that's some tiny stuff in there!!

definitely was helped by the "add more solder", before wicking it off.

The key is to click the red light so it is off, listen through the arranegemrnt. If you like it, make sure the red light is off and render. If not, record your changes and go again.

The red (Back to Arrangement) light means "something about the state of the Arrangement has changed, so what you're hearing on playback is not identical to what's in the Arrangement."

This doesn't necessarily mean that you've done something in the Session View. For example, adjusting a mixer parameter - even in the Arrangement View - that already has automation data will also cause the Back to Arrangement button to light up.

If you find that this is lighting up even though you're sure you've touched nothing, a jumpy MIDI controller is a likely problem.
