fcb 1010 works natively with pgmout and ctlout messages.. but pgmout messages are recognised by live as pitchbend paramters.. so, I think it would be reasonable to get this astonishing and cheap controller working natively and out-of-the-box with ableton live

it's really important for me to have this working properly because I am expandig the time I could use for maxforlive programming into adapting all the midi messages from fcb1010, and I get out of time for developing devices and stuff like that

I used to own an FCB1010 and I found the yahoo user group very useful for tips and tricks. There is also a piece of cheap software called iFCB on the web which is very handy. Ultimately I sold the FCB1010 because it didn't work for me in a creative sense, (too many buttons for a footswitch, two is fine for what I need!) but technically after some initial fiddling it was good.

It doesn't make any sense to buy ifcb.. I've already used the demo (it limits me a lot in terms of midi mapping) for configuring midi parameters in fcb 1010.. besides that I want to extend its possibilities in terms of footswitch comtrol using with maxmsp vj manzo patch which is quite simple but alows you to do a lot with this controller.. (kinda triggering automation in real time and so on).. so, I think that this controller should be definetely optimized for ableton live... because it is a good solution for anyone using acoustic or electric instruments with live, and needing and free or almost and free control..

Out of the box is on Behringer's side, not Ableton's. These require programming to set up correctly. I have one and it took a couple hours to program, but once I got it to send MIDI CC messages only it works great as a foot controller when I'm looping guitar, bass, or even keys.
