I'm trying to use Live 4 as a Sequencer, but I don't know how to hook up my Roland MC-505 and Access Virus KC to Live. What I would like to do is select a patch from whatever bank from either my Roland or Access and play and have Live record what I have played through midi. Then play back what I have recorded. Can someone tell me how to do this? Also, lets say I shutdown live and my equipment and turned everything on again and opened what I had just recorded in Live. Is it possible to have what I just recorded play back exactly like I recorded it. What I mean is, when I play the sequence back again will I hear the exact patches again from my keyboard without having to fiddle with anything? If someone could help me out with this I would greatly appreciate it!!

I would chain it like this: MC505 to Virus in. Virus (with soft thru on) to Computer in Computer out to MC505. That way you could use the mc knobs to control Live and the Virus knobs and keyboard. You could also use the MC clock to control Live and start stop, granted the MC can do this.

The virus has a buffer so you can turn it off and on and the patch will be the same. But if you change to patch you will lose what you did. I suggest going to the virus forum in yahoo groups or the better "unofficial virus forum" at sunesha.nu/virusforum. There you can ask about saving and whatever. You might find a Live user there.
