So i have read the above license and to me it appears i am free to use media content within my own work for public commercial release without any need to pay royalties or attribute any part of my new composition to the sample creator who has submitted his work under a creative commons licenses. Is this correct ?

Royalties definately not. Attribution depends on whether its specified with the sample your using.
You must attribute the work in the manner specified by the author or licensor (but not in any way that suggests that they endorse you or your use of the work).
