Hi,

Any synth guru's that are no here if you could help with a questions that I have i'd be greatful.

I have a track with a rhodes in it, for various reasons I can't use the rhodes (it's not quite righjt for the track, so I have exchanged it for a moog style synth, I am trying to match the sound to an extent but obviousy a rhodes is a lot more expressive than a simple moog patch straight out of the box, IIRC I have filter cutoff mapped to velocity (not all the way obviously),

Does anyone have any idea of what a typical rhodes patch adsr settings would be for both filter envelope and amplitude envelope.

Also, witha rhodes if you hit it harder does that change the envelopes (i..e should I be mapping velocity to decay or sustain or whatknot).

I have searched on the internet and not found anything thus far, plus had a look at synth secrets and found stuff for recreating piano patches but not the info I was looking for from skimming.

If anyone can cast a little light on this for my i'd be grateful!

Thanks

it completely depends on how hard its hit. a Rhodes hit hard is a percussive instrument with a fast hard attack, hit it soft and it's almost pad-like with a long attack.

same for the release.

love the Rhodes.

thanks Tone.

I figured I'd have to do some velocity to parameter mapping.

Sounds like you have given me a good start there, I couldn't work out why the synth wasn't sounding the same as the quieter passages and I think i have it now!

It needs to be at about 11.38 don't worry about radio frequencies, they are to high to hear.
