? This Automap release updates the Novation SLMkII controller firmware to add enhanced support in Ableton Live 8.1.3 and above

Ok- Awesome !

Firmware changes, which requires Ableton Live 8.1.3:
+ touch sense, encoder and button LED feedback in Live template

So what exactly do these enhancements do ? I'm still on 8.1.1, but will be upgrading this afternoon.

It just means that the rings around the encoders reflects the actual current parameter values. Same for the record buttons etc.
