I need a (preferrably free) fruity loops / iDrum-like drum machine / step sequencer for Mac...... iDrum can't expand beyond I believe 16 or 32 steps-- I need somethin that can go 64+ steps, where I can load hits/any samples, etc... Timing needs to be tight. any suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.....

iDrum does 64 steps, but it only displays 16 at a time. I guess that's not what you want ?
At any rate it does do 64step patterns.
it's a great little drum machine I would recommend to anyone. Also has nice pitch & bit depth effects... iZotope style (i.e. sounds very nice)
I'm not sure if every drum machine does swing & groove the same way, but those functions sound lovely on iDrum too.
You can also record patterns into iDrum. Which is pretty neat, I use a few different programs that lack their own dedicated drum sequencers or samplers. It's very useful to be able to quickly take patterns I make in live into those environments via iDrum.
you can also get 16 outputs out of iDrum, given that there's 8 stereo outs and you can hard-pan sounds to the left or right channel.
Just sayin, iDrum is worth a look.
for $60 it's almost impossible to go wrong.
be aware that the latest release 1.73 is for osx 10.5+ only. so if you're running 10.4 like me you'll want to check out 1.72
But I'm intrigued by 'Nerve' ... I checked the site, what, a month ago ? ... there was no demo at the time. Gonna check it out.
