If you're using 8 or higher and it's possible there, ignore this.. still on 7 here.

Pretty sure you can just right click and hit rename. This works for tracks, clips and files.

Also, in clip view you can rename the file. Click the clip and at the bottom left of your screen, you should be able to rename it and hit "Save". Good luck.
