CRAZY PUBLICITY STUNT!
As part of my evil plan to achieve superstardom the likes of which Deadmau5, Tiesto, and Daft Punk have never seen, I've decided to make my latest track a free, limited-time download.
What's the track like? A schizoid mash between italodisco, new wave, and new school grit. Kind of like Daft Punk's ugly cousin. Starts out nice and sweet, then proceeds to get kind of not-so-sweet. But don't let me tell you about it. Go download it!
Hell, it's free. If you hate it, you can send it straight to the Trash bin and nothing has been lost. Except maybe a few minutes of your time. Not a bad compromise.

EDIT:
Two more freebies! YAY!
This one's in a similar vein to the previously linked one. Quick and dirty re-edit of old school italodisco tracks. Choppy, jerky, kind of heavy.

And the next one is just a heavy, wobbly, re-edit of a *cough*Rihanna*cough track made at a friend's request just for shits and giggles. Kind of a different vibe. Major Lazer meets Drop the Lime with a hint of dubstep.

Some hot shit right there, I do enjoy the vibe of this song. After the breaks though, when the "chorus" er whatever comes in all "nasty" I am left wanting more. I think this is because this track doesn't really follow normal conventionality of a track, with the nasty, most broken part being the climax (which is totally fine and new and neat.) In my personal opinion if you tamed that chorus a bit you would have a helluva dance/groove track but thats just me. Overall I think excellent work though, don't get me wrong I will download when I get home.
Cheers

Your music always has so much energy for a guy who admittedly writes his music while lounging on the couch. I usually write my music while working a Dance Dance Revolution pad or from a pogo stick and yet it always comes out sounding like Enya's backup band featuring Ringo Starr. I'm going to have to try your method.

Hey nothing wrong with that. It's got depth. Chicks dig depth.

My post count on this forum illustrates that I have no idea what chicks dig.

Bro!
You're production is really there! I like the arrangement alot. The nasty stuff is a great idea, but IMHO it loses the VIBE. It's just too off and choppy. It sounds like a glitched out CD player. I can't see people being able to dance when that hits. I think it's just a timing / feel thing. You could take the same sounds and just place them so the funk continues.
Just my .02!
I think it's really close!

Thanks friend!
I do see your point.
Just to clarify: the idea was actually to make it sort of disjointed. Start out with a certain "vibe" then break into something else totally off, hence the "Schizo" part in the name.
Overall it's a combination of influences from my old life in DnB, plus what I've picked up from other artists in the "vein" of what I'm currently into. It's all usually a little heavy, and kind of broken up / cut up / jerky. i.e., the ed banger artists, boys noize, bloody beetroots, etc.
Not the typical "groovy" house tracks, but within a niche audience, it does work.
I do see your point though. I try to have variety amongst my own tracks so some will be more groove oriented, while others are just choppy like that.
some of the groovier ones:
http://soundcloud.com/nathan-vice/hot-sauce (techno... heavy... but groovy)
http://soundcloud.com/nathan-vice/insomnijack (also slightly heavy, but there's some groove in there)
http://soundcloud.com/nathan-vice/natha ... ls-in-heat (lighter. Early 90's influence. very funky)
Anyways appreciate the feedback!
Oh and I agree, chicks dig girth... and a bit of curvature as well

As a old euro disco fart, i like the originals better, maybe i am getting way to old. i dun get it to be honest.
For the rest, keep doing with what you have fun with.

Yes, the first one contains bits of Valerie Dore's "The Night" and "Get Closer". The "Val" in the title alludes to her.
Well, I am not an old fart, but I do love italo/euro/synth/whateveryouwanttocallit disco very much. I'm not really trying to "improve" the old ones. I just like to come up with slightly more "modern" re-edits that are DJ friendly... but it's meant as a tribute of sorts.
It's not a weird thing to see/hear. People sample old tracks all the time (heck, they even use the entire things and barely edit them at all - *cough*daftpunk*cough) and there's always those who will like the new version, and others still prefer the old ones (i actually always think the old ones are more special than my edits. Not on any kind of ego trip thinking the reverse).
I respect both sides. Can't please everyone.
Anyways thanks.
