I certainly wish a nice tapedelay in the supported Live-effects! It would give many mixes a lot more warmth and a nice analog-like sound on the much needed & used delays. Look at Steinberg's Tape Delay (er..- not a brilliant example, but..) - it's not THAT hard, i guess..?

Am i the only one having this on the list..?

That would be nice, tape delay would add a nice character to analog synth sounds. I think it would suit Live.

Get a real analog delay, mediocre imitations are simply waste of developing time. Plenty of those available as 3rd party plugins.

MDSPs Analogue delay might be what you're after. The flanger's very worth getting too while you're there.

the bionic delay by interruptor is amazing, it's basically a clone of the tapedelay found in Logic. I think it's on par with or even better than the ohmboyz delay, lightyears ahead of the mdsp one.

And it's FREE.

There's Augustus Loop by Expert Sleepers. It simulates a tape delay, but with a 3600 second (1 hour) maximum delay time!

i like the character of the Analogic Delay Freebie (kvr-vst.com)
so much so that i've been using it to make new sounds thanks to resampling in Live. if i need something wierd for background noises, put any kind of source through Analogic Delay, crank the feedback, tweak the groove a little... let it "marinate" for about 5 minutes.... step outside for some fresh air.
come back in and resample the wierdness that 5 minutes of feedback delay has morphed into.

Hi, all! i have used Interruptor's plugs for a while, and i agree, the Bionic-& the tape delay are both brilliant! And thanx for the KVR-link-i check it out now. Strange, i run UAD-1 dsp cards, but none offer tape delay (both TC Poco & UAD-1-dev's) - 'cause they say (always) it's very complicated make a good tapedelay that copes with dsp-cards/fw-units. Guess it's the extra delay due to the dsp-processing, causing troubles..

But thanx again - i load some KVR's now

BUT it WOULD be nice to have a integrated tapedelay in the common Live-effects, tho..

even if the echo/delays on the UAD1 aren't real "tape echos" they can be really usefull...it just takes a little time getting used to them i have found out...check out the echo unit from nigel, imho very usefull and nice behaviour..

Yes, i agree, Nigel's nice, but a CPU-hungry monster, tho.. Can only load one each UAD-1 card, specially when i use the Pultec Pro & the 1176 as masters, and dreamverb as send-effect. - And some Pultecs om tracks. Then Nigel is very demanding, if you have to use more powered plugs. But the delay on Nigel's nice - that's true

Thanx for the feedback - i will try it out now, and render it, so i can load it into another song without having to run Nigel simultaneously - it's just a workaround..

you're aware you can simply load the seperate modules of nigel?? so you don't use all the DSP..

you're in for a surprise, as not only the seperate nigel modules, but also the modules of the Channel Strip CS1 are available as seperate plugins, to spare DSP... i believe the nigel echo module is simply called "Trem/Mod/Echo" .... the delay and reflection modules of the channel strip are called "DM-1" and "RS-1" ..

Well, yes, i know about those, and i've used them pretty much. I thought u meant there were a separate delay on Nigel that ain't on the pluginlist from UAD-1. But then i got the picture, and i have to say, i'm not Very impressed with the delays at all from UA..! But they works as they should, but it's a long way from those to a tapedelay, tho..
