Live4 and Sampletank2 Free - Large CPU spikes

I have been using Sampletank2 Free with live 4. I really like the sound, but about every 30 seconds I get a CPU usage spike. Where the cpu usage goes to over 100%, and I get a drop out of audio.

I am using 867Mhz G4 Powerbook, w/ 1 gig of ram.

Is anyone else having this type of problem with this plug?

I'm sorry I don't have any solutions, but your post me wonder about your setup. IS sampletank free the software that what bundled with Protools LE? and If it is how did you get it to work with live? I'd like to get amplitube le to work with Live as well and you've given me faint hope
that it might work as well. all the best, yogi

Does this happen with the expensive one?

Denormals are more common in P4 processors - yeah like I didn't know that    - that said they do occasionally occur in AMD and G4 based systems.

DigitalFishPhones - do a denormaliser plug using basic AC/DC offest denormalising works a treat , see if that helps at all.

FaX-01,

What is a Denormal?

It's a computational error on finite values where the processor tries to calculate/number crunch data at an exobitant rate or some such thing it's pretty technical - P4's are the worst culprit.
Reverbs / delays -certain plug ins a worse than other though for this.
The result is massive CPU spiking usually over 100% and then some and a system grinding down to a halt :( .
