Even with Live 8.1.3 I'm experiencing some frequent crashes & I think it has ALL to do with M4L. I've sent many bug reports to the Abe crew & also within the email I kindly ask them if there is a high volume of bug reports being processed where M4L might be the cause of alot of this DAW turmoil....And of course no one's talking. I really wish something would be addressed so I can finally eliminate some issues. If M4L is going to continue to be a issue consider the license GONE. At one point I thought the issue was coming from Maschine however I pretty assured Max is the key element. Is anybody else having the issues with M4L & Ableton together? I really hope to continue using Max inside my Live sets however there comes a time when you have to say ENOUGH is ENOUGH. Rant over.

Live crashes without M4L too. Since you're sure its Max, could you elaborate on what is going on?

I was just getting ready to get max first and maschine later,
this sounds like i should hold my horses and save up longer?

Can you tell me a bit about your particular issues, and why you think MfL is responsible? Are you experiencing crashes when using particular Max devices? Are you making your own?

@ Dennis - My only logic to thinking that Max is what's causing my crashes is simply because when it happens Max is present. I dont bog down my computer with heavy doses of plugins or infinite amount of tracks. I've worked with the same template since the begining of Live 8 came out. After I incorporated Max THEN the crashes started (i.e. I never really had many issues of the whole "crash matrix") I can have a simple set of a few instruments (including a Max patch) & crash will be likely. HOWEVER Maschine too has been present along with some of these crashes (i.e. I've had 2 crash instances before where I only had 2 actual instruments loaded - A track with Maschine & another track with a preset Ableton instrument + a Max effect) Thats why I was wondering if Maschine was a issue - However I've run many sets for looong amounts of time with Maschine present (and no Max patch) & had ZERO crashes. I also think a nasty crash bug is ESPECIALLY happening when "Buffler Shuffler" is placed on a send channel.

Perpaps having a track with Maschine loaded & having "Buffler Shuffler" on a send channel is the root of my problem...I do use this setup quite often (and a crash does manage to pop up under this setup) More trail & error I suppose when I get home...

So its totally ruled out that the latest Mashine update isn't the cause? Or Live 8.1.3?

Fortunately, you can have several Live installations in separate folders.

I would suggest maintaining installations of at least the last 3-4 versions.

I've noticed "upgrades" frequently break previous functionality.

It's great to be at the bleeding edge of new features, but each new feature should be regarded as beta-ware for quite some time.
