2. the graphic


Note- I'm contemplating if we should bring this to General as a revolt and demand a lower price and new graphic that is not so... dance steps? CMON! We don't dance... we get drunk and check our e-mails!

Oh my. That graphic is a non-starter for me. I thought it was bowling pins at first... which might have been ok.

Upon further examination of the dance steps on the tee, a few thoughts come to mind-

1. The steps look like a drunk person attempting to walk

2. Are the Abes...mocking us

The tee isn't to bad, and i know its out of season but maybe for next winter....I want a zip up hoodie DAMNIT! Clothing isn't really there market after all and i can understand why this design isn't all that great, but hey...at least there trying.

i consider printing my first maxpatch on a shirt. would look quite similar, but is "my own"

Does it represent them tap dancing around all of the Live 8 bugs?

i also thought it was bowling pins.
im not a fan of t shirts with graphics or words on them.

I'm not feeling it.

I had to check the date to make sure it wasn't April Fools day again. WTH is that graphic? I thought bowling too...dance steps? Umm, how about just the Ableton logo?

I better get a free shirt or hoodie for my 10 year anniversary of being a Live user dammit!

Probably should have 'Dancing round the real issues' underneath it.

Seriously, wtf is up with the graphics dept? I mean isn't the whole world absolutely littered with pretentious graphic design graduates at the moment? I'm sure you should be able to get a half decent t-shirt design and splash screen done for just above minimum wage in any soup kitchen boasting an iMac.

I like the design but no, I will not buy one.

If the Abes want to crack into the lucrative clothing market, they have to break from the boring logo that everyone (here) has seen and branch out into some general graphics more people can relate to, like dancing.

And voila, "Ableton" is now a clothing manufacturer.

And $34 is a bit overpriced for usd at the moment so I'm guessing they won't sell very well over here.

So, what I would suggest is: keep going with the t-shirt designs, keep making them relatively generally related to music, but not overtly about their cryptic logo that only means something to a very slim target demographic who already gives them business. Charge about $20 except for holidays and when you have to dump inventory by taking 5 bucks off (or give a free one to ethios4 for 10 years of upgrades). Saturate the market with the Ableton name and treat it as your advertising budget.

And if the clothing business takes off, use the profits to hire another software dude whose job it is to make shit stable.

Again, nice design.

I like the green tag. The rest is rubbish.
