RIP John Balance, missed but never forgotten! Coil's music is truly unique and mindbending. His spirit will probably haunt recording studios in obscure and dark towns everywhere.

We are mourning for the loss of our dear friend Geff, John Balance of Coil.
Our thoughts are with Peter and Ian, Geff's family and friends, in this moment of deep sorrow. To us Geff was a beloved friend and a spiritual guide, our initiator to and maestro of shamanism, and one of the greatest and most generous artists of our generation. The pain for his loss is almost unbearable. We are in a state of shock and we don't know where to turn and look to.
Incidentally, only a few days ago we released a CDR containing a small sample of John Balance's vocals. We decided to suspend the sale of the Toilet Chant CDREP in sign of respect to Geff's memory. Beside, we need time to fully realize what happened and how big an impact this tragic event will have on our lives. Therefore we ask to the ones of you who already ordered it to be patient and to understand our grief.

Recently we've spent some weeks at Threshold House with Geff and Sleazy to help them with the clearing of their archives and equipments duing to their imminent relocation. In that occasion Coil recorded a track, A List Of Wishes, for our upcoming album of songs of Bertolt Brecht. We thought to share with all of you its lyrics, which Geff choosed among existing english translations, re-adapted and sang.
