Hi Rob-Wow...first post since your 2008 Motionx. Long time no hear. This track is mixed very well and fits the genre as titled. It could be that it doesn't match the style for that particular label. It is laid back and smooth but I would not necessarily call it dull and flat. Perhaps a mastering engineer can bring some more energy out of the it. I wish you all the best of luck.

Are they saying dull/flat sonically or dynamically?

They're probably used to hearing stuff brickwalled maximized.
Your mix is good, dynamic and the track is very nice.
Maybe get someone or yourself to master the track and they'll say is spot on!

Great track I love it. Sorry I dont know much about mastering or tracking but it does need that magic wand over it to make it sparkle. Otherwise bloody good I say
