Anyone know of software...

... that allows the user to "type" in words and have the CPU "sing" them back to you? I stumbled upon the Yamaha Vocaloid software but it unfortuanetly is PC only. (Mac user since 2nd grade). I have really been digging Vladislav Delay and his Luomo projects for some time now and would really like to work with more vocal oriented material without having to audition singers. Any help in styerring me in the right direction would be very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hmm.... unfortunatly Fruity Loops dosen't work on a Mac either. I guess what i'm looking for is a "text to speech" software that actually sings back what i type in. The Yamaha software looks perfect although it's only for a PC. Yamaha has nver ceased to amaze me in terms of making cool products that always have something wrong with them that keep me from purchasing. There either priced to high, or lack the overall inovative "it" factor that makes me want to reach for the wallet. There monitors have always sounded swell though...

Here's what you need, fool!

http://www.virsyn.de/en/E_Products/E_CA ... antor.html

It's called CANTOR and it's from Virsyn. I think it will provide you with hours and hours of unadulterated fun and pleasure! I plan on getting it too.

Watch out for high expectations from cantor or vocaloid... they both appear to be usable. You'll probably find it much easier (and possibly cheaper) to locate a real singer or train your own voice than to mess with either. Personally I don't think the software is there yet for making your computer sing realistically. If you are looking for something that sounds overly processed, digital or robotized then you'll probably dig these products.

try this. http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17069

It's called voice box. it sings, it speaks and with live's automated clips it rocks. there's a free apple script out there that does the same thing, but you cant control rate or pitch with that.

its not a serious solution but its fun!

You can use simpletext or Text edit in os9 and X...just type someting then find speak text in the menu, depending on the voice setting some of them sing.

I found the one!!
