manual ADSR triggering?

Does anyone know how I could set up a MIDI triggered ADSR envelope on a filter? I'm guessing it's easy in Max for Live but I don't have that yet.

Maybe route your track to another one, and make dummy clips with automation ?

do you mean an external hardware filter?

No, software. It would basically be an envelope filter but I would be manually controlling when the envelope triggers rather than the audio amplitude. Seems simple but surprisingly I don't think I've ever heard of a filter with MIDI-triggered envelopes.

max could do it. i would do something like this. it triggers with audio technically, but you have alot of control.
i would take autofilter and use the sidechain option. load up an instrument with the amp env. you are looking for and use that as the sidechain input. mute that track so that the audio controls only the filter (doesn't come out as audio). tweak for the response you are looking for.

Very decent solution.
