what is this bonobo sound?

sounds like a saw waveform.

along with it is either an arpeggio or an lfo (probably with the square type shape) of either pitch or like, a filter.

Experiment with those and see if it gives you ideas :)

Get a copy of the computer music magazine #152, it has a video of Bonobo creating this track, along with other things :)

By the way, it's from the iPhone ;)

You can also get sounds like that from SID chip emulators such as Quadrasid and Basic 64.
