Ableton Not Playing External Hardware

Hi All

This is my first post and I'm pretty new to Ableton. I'm trying to play back my hardware via midi but I'm not having any joy.

I have a 707 and when that is sync'd to Ableton's midi clock it works fine but if I try to trigger it via midi I'm getting no sound.

All midi is routed through a Unitor/AMT8 and works fine in Logic, I'm getting a midi signal in Ableton but no sound.

I don't want to route the audio back into Ableton, simply use Ableton's midi to trigger my external synths etc.

Any help appreciated.

Have you set the track to the correct midi in? I found sometimes when it's set to all inputs it doesn't work properly unless I select the specific midi input I'm using.

Also what are your monitoring settings for those tracks? Does it work if you press the record button for that track, or change the input monitoring to monitor the midi from the track input (rather than any recorded scenes/clips). Otherwise your MIDI output may be silent, as ableton doesn't automatically route all the midi inputs to all the midi outputs (or you'd get a terrible cachophony from all connected synths when you play any MIDI input).

Have you got both "track" and "remote" enabled in Live's Midi Preferences for the midi output to the AMT8?

I've tried various different configurations but none of them are working.

Here's a shot of the midi configuration:

Don't know if that makes any sense?

Thanks for the screenshot. In your midi track, you've set Midi To to No Output... have you tried setting that field to your AMT8?
