Ok, so I got an APC40 and trying to make it work with a foot switch mapped to the audio effect "looper" and it's big button. And it works with the first loop, but when I'm in overdub mode it "jumps out" of the recording phase, almost like it's undoing it every time

I have 2 different foot switches, both are standard sustain pedals, one from Yamaha and one from Roland. But same thing happens with both of them.

I've read similar issues on this board, but no solution. Please help.

There aren't any. And besides I'm pretty sure (but not 100%) that my Yamaha and Roland sustain pedals has opposite polarities, but both of them have the same problem.

then check what your pedal does. Arm a midi track, start recording a midi clip. Press the footpedal, stop recording. Now this empty midi clip should have an envelope on the midi cc that the pedal is connected to.

The envelope should be initially at 0, and go up to 127 only while you pressed the pedal.

If it is the other way round, then you need to flip the polarity.
