Triggering a vocal that starts just before the bar

Hi

I'm a newbie so forgive me if this is a daft question.

I have a vocal line that goes

"You've had your pound of flesh and you got it dirt cheap"

However, "You've" comes in before the start of the bar, "had" is sung on the bar, so if I loop from "You've" it is out of time, if I loop from had then it is in time but obviously I lose the "You've".

In Cubase I would arrange that piece of audio so that it starts just before the bar, I'm assuming I can do the same in the Arrange window but I'm wondering if there is any way I can do this from the Session view.

I'm well into Live 4, I've always used Cubase before, and although it is a huge package I found I only used a fraction of it. Live seems to offer a much easier and quicker way to get ideas down, but it is a new learning curve.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

Andy

You'd need to make a new clip with an extra 3 beats of silence, with "you're" appearing at the 4th beat. So basically, you need to trigger the vocals a bar early, but it will work.

warp to add silence

 ......or you could warp the silence before 'you've' (if there is any) to make up the full bar that that word appears in.
