NanoKONTROL not working properly *Solved*

Okay so I am about 5 mins away of throwing my new nanoKontrol out of the window:( because setting this thing up is driving me crazy right now!
I downloaded and installed the editor and usb-midi driver from the Korg website, opened the editor, tweaked the settings (I mainly want the top buttons in toggle mode to turn tracks on and off) saved the settings and then open live, re open editor load my settings file and no toggle!
I have the editor set for USB audio device for midi in and midi out and I keep getting a message that says "Failed to open midi port" then I switched preferences to my audio interfaces (E-MU 1820m) midi ports and when I re-open editor I get a timeout message while it tries to communicate.
Somebody halp me.(Yes I spelled help with an "a" so you know I really need "halp";) )
