Warp Markers all gone... please help

I searched through this forum's threads and found a few discussions but no solutions.

I reformatted my drive and put all my mp3s + asds + Live 8.1.3 back on, and most of my songs do not load with their warp markers anymore.

How can I fix this? This happens on random occasions too; it's happened a few times live gigs to a few clips.

Any fixes / solutions?

PLEASE, thanks.

(Yes, I hit Save when I create warp markers)

Live 8.1.3
OSX 10.6.2
hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of manually warp markered mp3s

Stop using MP3's, use wav files instead. Live is doing this anyway for you before it plays the files.

are the .asd files in the same dir as the mp3s?

do you have the same directory structure as before? maybe there's something about the path in the .asd files that aren't 'relative paths.'

Tarekith - for real? too late for that. cut the guy some slack, he's one of the few posters that knows how to use an apostrophe. ;) that practically makes him a genius around here.

I'm just saying, if they're gone and he has to do them all over again anyway, now's the chance to start with wavs and not have to worry about it anymore.

<insert PSA for backing up data>

We see this a lot on ALDJ, people using VBR MP3's, or just something funky with Live not always remembering the warp markers after decoding the MP3's to wav and putting them in the cache. More often than not, once things go haywire, there's no way to get them back.

With storage prices being what they are, I always recommend people use wavs for DJing. Even if you still want to save money and buy high quality MP3's, just convert them to wav after and use the wav. A lot of people don't realize that Live does this automatically. He should check his decoding cache (listed in the preferences), and see if any of the files are there too.

don't panic. Just re-install quicktime and it should work again.
Had this problem a few days ago and forum-member told me this.
You can also use quicktime-alternative (much less stuff comes with this one)

Hope it works for you too
