BASS CHALLENGE

Hi Guys,
I've been hammering my head against the wall for quite some time trying to achieve this sound.
I got really close to it but it's still not the same.
I've used SYLENTH1 VST and i got close to it using several layers of square, triangle and sine waves...
...so if anyone can help me on this i would be much appreciated.
Here is the example file:

Thanks.

Hmm sounds kinda FM to me, based round a square wave for the main carrier, definitely one modulator with a quick attack for the knock at the start...

you should try getting into FM synthesis, it's not that hard and it's very useful.
Operator is really wonderful, you should try it.

i know operator and i have an idea how FM works, but still i would prefer to do it by subtractive synthesis...
Thanks anyway

Try it in 2 layers in a subtractive synth.
- one low subby tone: lowpassed square wave, some tuned resonance, with a bit of pitch envelope.
- high tone, filtered (maybe bandpass?) square wave, little bit of release

no, the sound of fm synthesis is different from subtractive
now, you can do some basic FM with analog synth but no as complex as 4 or 6 operator FM snth !

ok, im rephrasing the question... is it possible to achieve that sound with subtractive synthesis?
or if not can someone help me to that in operator?

i just dont know much about FM thats why i would prefer to do it with subtractive synthesis... so if the sound is not achievable by subtractive i dont mind using operator... i just need someone to help me 'cause i dont know how to do it
Thanks once again guys

sounds like about 6 voices stacked and spread in pan. needs some synth with unison-feature.
