Crashes on Win7 64bit when working VSTs in Live?

My initial experience with Live on 64bit was fine, so I upgraded my laptop as well, but now I find I'm having multiple daily crashes in Live when working with 3rd-party VSTs, and especially Native Instruments. I'm having to be far more 'efficient' in setting up my sessions than I ever was in XP to try to minimize the crash risk. Working with Live without a lot of 3rd party stuff still seems pretty stable, though I've sent a consistent bug to the Ableton devs where I will always crash with repeating a looped section for a long time while monitoring a live input.

Also, when I do crash, it takes *FOREVER* for the thread to complete and terminate so that I can launch again. Even when I try to manually terminate it in Task Manager; sometimes it can take up to 5 minutes to complete and exit so I can work again.

Both of my systems are pretty buff - the desktop is a dual core i7 (can't remember the GHz) with 12 GB of ram and lots of disk space, and my laptop is a core duo with 8 GB of ram.

I'm diligently sending in all of my crash files; I hope to see some relief in the next update.

1) Always run Live as administrator, and not just with UAC turned off. Start up Live and unselect/reselect your plugin folder.
2) If your plugin folder's in C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86), move it somewhere else.

Thanks, EW. Yeah, already turned off UAC, I have my Live shortcut set to always run as administrator and plugins are at C:\VstPlugins.

I did notice in the VST report list that there have been a number of issues with Waves and IKMultimedia plugins, they may have some part in it as well.
