I have an APC 40. Should I get a launch pad?

Hi.
I have an APC 40 and am thinking of getting a Launch Pad. Are there some things that the Pad does that the APC does not? I know it's a little like the Monome without the learning curve.
Thanks,
Ron

I would only get the launchpad if you have some actual live performances planned as its more portable than the apc.

As the launchpad does not have knobs and sliders all values are adjusted using the grid buttons (after you have changed mode) in some instances this is desirable (ie choosing the grid value for beat repeat) but for the most part the APC is a great way to control Live.

I'm thinking about getting a launchpad for Djing with ableton, using the in house dj mixer for eq & levels and the launchpad for clip triggering, navigation, fx & dummy clips. That would be a nice simple setup. :D

no.. i relation to the mamut lp the apc is rather compact.. and the software inergartion ia problematic..
dont know if that works because theorie and practize are 2 different things here.. but an apc 20 might be the better add

Try out Hanz Petrov's remote scripts, they greatly enhance the functionality of the APC40 - ie. Note Mode, Extra Shift Functions etc.
