Guitar Rig 4 does not work in Ableton

I can get GR4 to work alone, but not in Ableton. I use a m-audio fast track pro interface. If I open Ableton first, it uses the interface, and won't let GR4 use it. If I open GR4 first, it can work, but now the interface is not available for Ableton.

Works for me...
Did you install Guitar Rig in the right folder?
In Preferences, Files Folder tab, look at VST Plug-In custom folder. Make sure that you selected this folder as your VST folder when you installed Guitar Rig.

Thanks for the reply, however I don't know what you mean. I installed GR4 in the folder it suggested. I don't see a root directory or path for the custom folder. Ya know like c:/ableton/vst/plugins or whatever. I have no idea what the folders path would be in ableton. It does not say. Very frustrating! I've spent around 10 hrs already trying to get it to work.
GR4 works great stand alone, but that does not help me record anything with it.
Thanks

Does GR4 appear in your plugs in once you've opened Live? Open Live, click on the little plug icon on the left handside in thebrowser and scroll down to Native instruments, then drag and drop GR4 onto an audio track, arm the track and play the geetar.

Maybe you can try the VST instead of the Audio Unit?
