new template editor for remote

Has anyone downloaded the new Template Editor for the Novation Remote? The link for the Mac version seems to be broken, though the PC one works. I'm curious to know what it's about. I'm hoping it means no more fiddly writing names and changing values with a dial, and instead typing them out on the computer.

Hey Mr Picky...while I sit here waiting for one of your countrymen to appear on MSN...I'll wager you dinner it's for Mac, not max...as Novation can hardly get it together to even get their templates/OS in order in time for release (remember?) I doubt imagine they've suddenly pulled something as esoteric as a Max-based template editor (wtf??) for us Mac users.
How was your tour anyway Pad?

Yeah, you're right mo'fonk-san. Dinners on me, I reckon. I'm just the son of two English teachers and can't help but notice that shit... Being a white male right-handed half-swedish virgo keyboard player doesn't help. You don't get any more anal than that. Picky? you dunno the half of it!
The tour was awesome but exhausting - the full gamut you might say. Met some lovely people and had some wicked gigs. Some curve balls too - like Mysterious Swolen Foot Syndrome... and Irish Drinking Nemesis
Just spent the last three days recovering at home. When I get around to it I'll write up a full report (in triplicate with pink and blue receipts)
cheers

Remember how long we had to wait for the X-Station upgrade ? Now that Novation is 'focusrite fuelled', I guess we'll get good core audio drivers for Xmas 2010 !! So I guess the mac link isn't broken, it's here to make us patient. Now I'm going for my daily visit to the Novation's site, one never knows...

I installed it and it basically does what you'd expect, though i haven't actually needed to update a template so haven't used it that extensively, just fiddled around. Doing it from the remote's ok most of the time, but it would be too painfully slow to name every control in a template, so being able to name things quickly with the template editor will be a nice improvement. The zip (and no doubt the mac version too) also includes a Remote25 OS update (v2.2.08 ) but no documentation to go with it, so not actually sure what the differences are. You can also use the template editor to update your Remote, instead of using a sysex librarian.

It is editor like any other ! Why do you want me to tell you ? That you feel worse not having it ? OK your choice, you ask for it
Opens with a menu asking if you want to do new, see one on Remote (got to put it in receive mode and dump from 25) upgrading system etc, etc. Then it opens little thing looking like Remote, you CC or whatever by assigned button and fader. Right click, that you dont have anyway to delete it. Clicking on items opens menu where you can edit or create. Then you can upload- takes 1 sec > upload button it and/or save to computer
I hate writing all that, teasing, since you cant get it, yes ! that bloody thing is nice, it works, makes life and Live easier , I like it and feel sorry you cannot use it.
PS Just seen another answer, there is pdf for the update.

The Mac version's up. The editor seems very good. Much easier to create a template on the computer than on the machine, and with the press of a button, viola, there it is on the machine. Good stuff.

BTW, when you download the editor there's also an OS update sysex file in there. You can use the tempplate editor app. to update your OS, no need for a librarian or trawling around for the older updater utility.

Are you sure about that? The only pdf i can see is the one for the previous version (2.1.02) which the site calls the "latest version", when in fact the OS bundled with the editor is 2.2.08
