Breaking Bad

Easily one of the best written and acted shows on TV today but so completely painful to watch. So many depressing and tension filled plots. And don't watch it marathon style because you'll want to put a gun to your head.

I couldn't agree more. I've watched all 30-odd episodes and its the best thing I've ever seen. Maybe its because I used to be a chemistry teacher. Rumour has it there's going to be a series 4. Tuco eh?

I'm only up to about the 3rd episode of the 3rd season…ended with Skyler telling Walter she cheated on him, and Jesus, I'm an emotional wreck over this. You watch enough episodes in a row and you start believing it's your life they're talking about or somebody close to you. I wake up feeling all depressed.
And yet I press on watching it…..

Yeah I found myself watching 3 in a row until I made myself cut down to 1 or 2. The ending is stunning as you might expect, won't spoil it for you. The very first episode was a masterpiece!

I liked the addition of the 2 silent dudes from the drug cartel and for the most part can hang with the drug plot even though there's the turmoil of a high school chemistry teaching cooking to support his family in the future, but when they start getting into the cancer subject and personal relationships things get really complex. The genius of the writing is that there are no clear bad guys outside of the cartels and you can relate to just about every character even when they are doing something bad. It's like you are routing for everybody even when their character plotlines contradict each other. It's a real head fuck.

Amazing work! Very bold.
I caught this when it first aired, but then I missed an episode. At that point I decided I would not watch it anymore until I could see them in order. When I have more time I plan on watching every episode.
Same thing happened for me with Mad Men, another great show.
That's why DVDs were invented

I can't watch shows like Californication or Entourage..can't stand hollywood types and their "problems".

So I got up to episode 7 in season 3 last night. It was an emotionally welcome change at episode 4 when they started getting back into the drug storyline and away from the family storyline which was becoming really quite draining, but I'm also enjoying the struggle within Skyler between being a hard-line bitch and maybe realizing Walt just did what he did with good intensions in mind. Also like how Walt is manning up and moving forward.
I feel like I really need to plow through this asap so I can get on with my life.

Can't say I was all that excited going into season 2 after the emotional rollercoaster that was season 1 with a lot of downers, but I'm glad I soldiered through to current because now it's in an exciting place with a new confidence in almost all the characters.
