Sampling in ableton using mpd

Hi all.
I am new to the Ableton and wanted to ask for some tips or tricks - how to sample inside Ableton using mpd as mpc.
So far i created preset like in this video:

But thing is that i want to chop my sample myself, not do that slice to midi track as showing in that video.
So maybe someone can give me advice how to chop sample myself and then load it up in preset and trigger chops with my mpd.
Also question about mpd - all the buttons are working fine (sending to software signal), but for example all the knobs and sliders don't do anything - i need to set them manualy via midi map?

Hey,
The quickest way to do what you want is like this:

1. Go through your audio clip (the sample) and place Warp Markers (the yellow flags) at every place that you like. For example, if you hear a good drum sound, double-click before it to create a Warp Marker. Then when you hear a good horn sound, make another Warp Marker, etc.

2. Right-click on the sample and choose "Slice to New MIDI Track." (Or Create > Slice to New MIDI Track).

3. Where it says "Create one slice per:" choose "Warp Marker." (The guy in the video did "Bar" I think).
(By the way, "Built-in" is probably fine for the Slicing Preset.)
